A meaningful Flag Retirement Ceremony was held at the Minnesota Veterans Homes - Montevideo, organized by Dorian Gatchell and the Prairie Fire Chapter of the Order of the Arrow (OA). 🇺🇸 Scouts from across the area came together for this special event, including Troop 3224 and Troop 3353 from Litchfield, and Pack 3291 and Troop 3269 from Granite Falls. District Commissioner Jasmine Nieto was also in attendance. Older scouts shared readings honoring each branch of the military, while younger scouts received branch flags for retirement from Veterans Thane F., Mel B., and Darrel L., and participated in the ceremonial cutting of the flags. A 2025 roll call of Veterans who have passed away was read by volunteer Dennis Wold as scouts respectfully folded the American flag. The ceremony concluded with a meaningful social time, allowing Veterans and scouts to connect and visit together.
