Smiles, cheer and the sweetest holiday traditions filled the halls of the Minneapolis Veterans Home last week! Residents enjoyed picking out gifts for themselves and loved ones during the American Legion Auxiliary - Department of Minnesota Holiday Gift Shop, handing them off to volunteers for gift-wrapping while sipping hot cider and enjoying cookies. The Home also celebrated one of its most beloved annual traditions—Lefse Day! Residents gathered as the Recreation Therapists and volunteers rolled, grilled and served fresh homemade lefse with all the classics: brown sugar, white sugar, lingonberries and even a sausage version. Egg nog added the perfect finishing touch, sparking memories of family kitchens and festive gatherings.
