Just a week after the killing of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, ICE agents fatally shot another Latino migrant now confirmed to be Joan Sebastian Guerrero, a 26-year-old delivery driver and father from Colombia, in Maine. According to several news outlets, ICE agents fatally shot Guerrero, who had a US work permit, during a traffic stop. Though ICE officials say that he “attempted to leave the scene,” witnesses who were present told the Portland Press Herald that agents in an unmarked car rammed Guerrero’s vehicle, with him saying “I tried to stop” before succumbing to his injuries. He leaves behind his wife and three-year-old daughter, who were at the scene according to CNN, as well as his sister. “He was a member of our community, a neighbor, and a human being whose life was cut tragically short,” Presente!
