Today is the birthday of #ACSdata from the U.S. Census Bureau! Researcher Allison Liuzzi brought the data spirit with her Census-inspired tee. :) This data source has a big impact on how we think of our communities. ACS (American Community Survey) data tell us about poverty, housing, workforce, smaller populations (especially the variety of ethnic groups living in Minnesota), and more. An example: Here's one of the lists with data released just today on workforce by city: mncompass.org/workforce/proportion-of-adults-working#1-7417-g PS Did you notice anything about that lovely, lengthy city list? Starting today, instead of listing Minnesota's 55 largest cities (population 20,000+) we now list the 96 largest (population 10,000+)! We'll update the city tables as new data come out.
