Noelle Mansbridge thought nothing of her 2023 debut single ‘P3T’ when she quietly dropped it, until one user, inspired by the song’s self-degrading lyrics and punishing drum breaks, used it in their furry animation. As she released more singles, a litany of fluorescent, fan-made videos followed, and after seeing the success of her debut EP ‘Chaser’, she decided to drop out of college to focus on music full-time. So far, that move is paying off. Now a duo, joined by friend Juno Callender, Femtanyl released their debut album ‘Man Bites Dog’ in February – a record that possesses an earsplitting abrasiveness and pushes clangs, gurgles and metallic breaks to extremes. “There was a very specific idea of what a Femtanyl song was,” Mansbridge explains. “I wanted to get more experimental and freak it out a little bit.” femtanylll are on The Cover.
