Bryce Harper took to Instagram today to deny that he was working with FanDuel when he recorded a personalized video for a man with a gambling addiction.
In an Instagram story, Harper said that he had “joined the messaging site Cameo to engage with fans with paid videos but that ‘what happened here went beyond anything I knew about or approved.’"
The 21-second video from November 2024 surfaced recently by The Philadelphia Inquirer shows Harper “offering a greeting to the bettor, Terry Thompson, and Thompson’s son, by name."
According to the Inquirer's reporting, Thompson wagered $18.5M and lost $1.5M since joining the FanDuel platform in 2020.
