Oxford scientists from ox_wrh have developed a wearable ultrasound patch that could transform how high-risk pregnancies are monitored. The soft patch continuously tracks a baby’s blood flow in the womb, helping clinicians detect potential warning signs earlier than routine ultrasound appointments alone. While the technology still needs further development before it can be used routinely, researchers hope it could one day help identify problems earlier, reduce unnecessary hospital visits and give families greater reassurance throughout pregnancy.
