IBM's Power lineup is going autonomous, and getting an edge server for AI. The new Power S1112 is a compact single-socket Power11 box for running AI inference locally, with IBM claiming 2x the per-core performance of the older S914 and up to 69% better energy efficiency. Paired with it: Power Autonomous Operations, an AI control plane that resolved a capacity issue in 3.33 minutes versus nearly 53 minutes by hand in IBM's testing, about 15x faster.
