The Black Lion Tamarin’s comeback story is still being written 🖤🦁🐒 Over the past year, conservationists with institutoipe monitored five groups of Black Lion Tamarins across key sites in Brazil, collecting health and genetic data that will help guide the species’ future. They also completed the translocation of a second group to suitable habitat and tracked more than 1,300 movement points to better understand how these Endangered primates adapt to their new homes. The work doesn’t stop in the forest. Through environmental education programs, the team also reached more than 500 students, helping inspire the next generation of conservationists where Black Lion Tamarins live. Every field survey, health assessment, and classroom visit helps build a stronger future for one of the world’s rarest primates.
