This year’s Volunteer of the Year award recipient is Sgt. Mitchel Hull of the 7th Battalion, 158th General Support Aviation Regiment, 11th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade, was recognized for his commitment and service to others at the Volunteer of the Year Award Ceremony April 23 in the Phantom Warrior Center at Fort Cavazos.
Hull is a U.S. Army Reserve Soldier and a civilian social worker. For months, he volunteered nights working a suicide hotline, helping many people through some of their most difficult times. Hull also volunteers at his local USO helping to support his fellow service members and their families.
“I hope it inspires people to volunteer,” he said. “I care about people, and I want people to care more about other people," he said of the award.
