Man, I thought I was just grabbing something to eat. I stumbled into the Western Pennsylvania Juneteenth Celebration Friday night and figured, “That’s cool.” Then I spent Saturday and Sunday in West Virginia doing training. On the way back Sunday evening, I came downtown looking for food and somehow walked right back into the same celebration again. Now, being from Texas, Juneteenth ain’t new to me. But I had no idea Pittsburgh was outside like THIS. Lloyd, Musiq Soulchild, Fabolous, food vendors, lawn chairs, and what looked like the entire Black population of Western Pennsylvania. I don’t know who planned this, but they definitely understood the assignment. Anyway, shout out to Pittsburgh. I came up here for training and accidentally ended up at a four-day family reunion. #BeingMrFranklin
