And with that, the Fort Hood Ball Hockey Court is officially open for use! Be sure to take a watch as the Dallas Stars conducted a free clinic on the court.
It is located at the corner of Old Ironsides Ave. and 74th Street and is free for the Fort Hood community to use.
Ball hockey is patterned after and closely related to ice hockey, except the game is played in tennis shoes on a non-ice surface. The Fort Hood Ball Hockey Court will be a multi-purpose outdoor court. The court surface will be built using Sport Court®, a high-quality modular synthetic sports flooring system, a 48′ x 94′ (4,512 sq. ft.) of outdoor surfacing that will be lined for ball hockey. Dasher boards will surround the court at 42″ tall with two gates for entrance that give you the feel like you are playing in a hockey rink. Two National Hockey League steel ball hockey goals will be placed on either end of the court.
Will we see you there to enjoy the new hockey court?
