Happy World Giraffe Day and Happy Father's Day to Jasiri, one very special giraffe dad! 🧡🤎🦒 Earlier this year, we shared some exciting giraffe moves, including welcoming back Jasiri, our five-year-old reticulated giraffe breeding bull. After a temporary stay at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo as part of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums' Species Survival Plan (SSP), Jasiri has officially returned to DZCA. As the father of Thorn, who was born at DZCA last year, first-time dad Jasiri plays an important role in helping ensure a future for this Endangered species. While Thorn has now made a permanent move to CMZoo to join their herd, Jasiri is settling back into familiar surroundings and reconnecting with familiar faces here at DZCA.
