Happy birthday, Tavi and Kelele! 🎂 Our spotted hyenas celebrated their June birthdays in style today with an outdoor picnic courtesy of their Animal Care team, complete with a lamb carcass, goat milk flowers, fresh cut fruit, and whipped cream for dessert, all laid out on a hand-painted gingham tablecloth. Guests got to watch the matriarchal dynamic play out in real time: since hyenas are a female-dominant species, Tavi commanded the meal, with Kelele deferring to her on food and resources.
