Last week, DZCA as part of our Great Plains and Rocky Mountain Field Conservation programs were proud to host a press event celebrating the completion of the State Wildlife Action Plan (SWAP) alongside our partners at coparkswildlife, nationalwildlife, and the@cowildlifefed. 🎉 The SWAP is a comprehensive, science-based resource focused on the status of wildlife populations across Colorado, with an emphasis on individual species and their habitats, helping forge new partnerships, strengthen existing ones, and inform policy to keep Colorado wildlife, and habitats, healthy and thriving. This plan will guide Colorado's efforts to conserve the state's most vulnerable species and the habitats they depend on for the next 10 years. DZCA is already hard at work on several species featured in the plan, from restoring boreal toad populations and surveying American pika to protecting bighorn sheep through veterinary medicine and human-wildlife conflict mitigation.
