Thorn has not only stolen hearts since day one, but as Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance's first giraffe calf born in nearly a decade, Thorn has been a symbol of hope for this Endangered species since his birth in March 2025. This May, he'll permanently join the herd at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo as part of a carefully planned AZA Species Survival Plan recommendation, helping ensure a genetically diverse, sustainable giraffe population for generations to come.
