The Lampasas River near Kempner is flowing at 10.96 feet as of 1:30 p.m. today, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. This is significantly higher than the typical 1 to 2 feet seen during summer months.💧 Current flow: 10,200 cubic feet per second (cfs)💧 Normal flow: Around 150 cfs📏 To put it in perspective, the river is more than five times deeper than normal and moving almost 70 times more water. What is normally a shallow stream you could walk across is now a powerful current strong enough to sweep away a vehicle.📍 Source: USGS Gauge 08103800🔗 waterdata.usgs.govPlease stay safe and share this with anyone who lives, works or plays near the river.#LampasasRiver #KempnerTX #FloodAlert #TexasWeather #USGS #RiverUpdate
