Researchers at UC San Diego have completed what they say is a world first: using humanoid robots during surgery. In one procedure, a humanoid robot assisted a surgeon with a gallbladder removal. In another, two teleoperated humanoid robots worked together during surgery. Both procedures were successfully performed on live pigs.
