Meet our Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope!   Scheduled to launch this August, Roman is set to join orbiting telescopes like NASAHubble and NASAWebb in helping scientists study the cosmos. Its data will help us find the answers to some of our greatest questions about the universe—like “what is dark matter?” and “are there other planetary systems like our own?”   What makes Roman special? Its field of vision is over 100 times the size of Hubble’s, and it can block the bright glare from distant stars to better view the exoplanets surrounding them. These panoramic shots will capture the big picture of the cosmos and help scientists identify new targets for our other orbiting observatories.   Swipe to see some of the parts that make up Roman: a top-down view of the partially-assembled telescope, its camera, the focal plane that will help capture its photos, and Roman’s antenna that will help it communicate with Earth.   #NASA #Roman #Telescope #Universe
