Being the youngest used to make me feel like I didn’t belong.
Now I realise it was the biggest advantage I have.
Here’s what I learned:
1. Everyone wants to help the young guy who’s hungry People invest in potential. Show up with energy and intent and the older guys in the room will open doors you didn’t even know existed.
2. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain No reputation to protect. No ego on the line. That freedom is rare, most people spend their whole career trying to get it back.
3. You absorb faster than anyone else in the room
One conversation with the right person can save you 5 years of trial and error. Stay quiet. Listen more than you talk.
4. Your age makes you memorable
In a room full of 40-year-olds, the young guy who carries himself well stands out. Use it.
5. Discomfort is the whole point
If you’re not the youngest or least experienced person in the room, you’re in the wrong room.
6. The rooms you get into early define your ceiling Network up. Alway...
