Gangrel addressed how close he came to joining Edge's Brood entrance at WrestleMania 39 on Insight with Chris Van Vliet: "In Edge's mind, yes, he was trying hard, but in their minds, no, I don't think so." Chris Van Vliet noted Edge has said he was told fans would not remember Gangrel. "That's what they said," Gangrel responded. "But I think there's a little bit more to it. I don't know what it is." On who stopped it: "I think it might have been Hunter. Some people said Vince, but I think it might have been Hunter. Somebody kaboshed it. So when that didn't go down, he left the next year to AEW.
