The AAA Latin American Championship is vacant. On Saturday’s AAA on Fox, Dorian Roldan announced that El Hijo del Vikingo suffered a knee injury that required surgery, with Rey Mysterio saying Vikingo is expected to be out for several months. The injury occurred while Vikingo prepared for a scheduled NXT match on June 30. Roldan blamed Mysterio for sending Vikingo to NXT and SmackDown, said he plans to sue the general manager for negligence, and attempted to name Omos the new champion on the spot. Mysterio refused to recognize the move, telling Omos to hand over the title or face an indefinite suspension. Omos shoved the belt into Mysterio’s chest, and Mysterio declared the championship vacant, saying he will announce next week how a new champion will be crowned.
