#muscleup challenge. According to AI: <1% of the general adult population can do a strict muscle-up, and roughly 1% of men. That skews heavily toward younger, trained people. For 50+ specifically, three things stack against you: shoulder mobility declines, explosive pulling power drops, and bodyweight typically creeps up. CDC data also shows only ~30% of 45–64 year old men even do any muscle-strengthening activity twice a week, dropping to 22% at 65+.
Rough estimate: something like 1 in 1,000 to 1 in 5,000 people over 50 can do a strict, unassisted muscle-up. In the US (~115M people aged 50+), that’s roughly 25,000–120,000. Globally, maybe a few hundred thousand to a couple million. Kipping muscle-ups would bump those numbers up meaningfully.
