Police issued an alert to residents in several Chicago suburbs Monday as they search for a missing person, with an investigation shutting down a forest preserve and campground.
The Gilberts Police Department said it was seeking the public's help locating a missing person, with Kane County's Emergency Management agency sending a text alert to residents seeking information on potential sightings.
Adam Kurtz, a 59-year-old man from the Timber Trails subdivision, was last seen leaving his home around 1 p.m. Sunday riding a black Trek mountain bike. At the time, he was wearing a black tank top, dark shorts, a white ball cap and dark-colored tennis shoes, police said.
A search for Kurtz shut down the Burnidge Forest Preserve and Paul Wolff Campground Monday in Elgin.
