Similar to her book, Niki Lott’s life has been molded by ministry. As a girl, Lott wrote poems and stories based on what she learned in church then turned to songwriting as a teenager. Lott’s father became a pastor when the family moved to Tennessee when she was 12 years old. She later attended Crown College in Tennessee where some of her songs were performed during church services, and she later married her college sweetheart, Brian Lott, who is a pastor at New Testament Baptist Church in Center Township.
