Sherry Fang never signed up to be an influencer. She says anyone with a message to get across is one now, and trust keeps getting more expensive.
Sherry joins Mike for a candid conversation about why she went into coaching because she needed to be coached herself, why you cannot change anyone through persuasion, what women leaders keep telling her they have to unlearn, where AI belongs in a business and where it does not, and why she walked away from a podcast with more than two million downloads to start a second one from zero.
A couple of years ago Sherry was doing social media for clients, where the work was the carousel and the aesthetic and keeping everything on brand. Now, she says, it is the authentic message and the trust behind it. And because there are more creators now, that trust costs more to build than it used to.
This is the first episode of The PIMS Influence, and a conversation about what actually earns an audience in beauty right now.
