#Repost preservinghistory ... Jerard R. Jackson, a 28-year-old man from Illinois, disappeared after attending the Electric Forest music festival in Michigan. His family says he traveled there with a group of friends, but when the trip ended, the group returned home without him. He was the ONLY black person in the group! Days later, Jerard was found dead in a wooded area near his rental vehicle. Authorities say preliminary findings point to suicide, but his family is publicly rejecting that conclusion and says he did not have a history of mental illness and there are still too many unanswered questions. Black families have seen too many cases where their loved ones disappear, the first explanation becomes the official explanation, and the people asking questions are treated like they are doing too much.
