Not every barrier girls face is visible. Some are the expectations, stereotypes, and labels that tell them to stay small. For her Gold Award, L created Girl, Uninterrupted, a research-based project exploring how societal expectations shape girls’ confidence and self-expression. Through a four-part essay, interviews, workshops, and an anonymous support platform, she encouraged girls to challenge limiting stereotypes, ask bold questions, and feel confident taking up space. L found that even small moments of encouragement can spark lasting confidence. After participating in her workshops, girls became more willing to speak up in class, ask questions, and trust their own voices. To help sustain her impact, L also created an anonymous form where girls can continue seeking guidance and support beyond the project. 💛💚via girlscoutsnyc #gsGoldAward
