Only in Tucson does the rodeo come with an actual school break. 🤠🌵 Every February, Tucson Unified and several other local districts close for Rodeo Break, giving students Thursday and Friday off during La Fiesta de los Vaqueros. TUSD’s 2025–26 calendar listed the break for February 26–27. The tradition is tied to the Tucson Rodeo, which began in 1925 and has become one of the city’s most recognizable annual events.
