Rolling out 3 colors of rubber base ink with a brayer on the ink stone in preparation for letterpress printing in the print shop exhibit at the Sacramento History Museum.
As we’ve been highlighting throughout the month printing in red, white, and blue ink this month, we thought we’d show how we get the ink ready. As Jared demonstrates, this is done to create an even layer of ink on the ink stone and brayer.
The remaining ink at the top of the stone will gradually be rolled out as more prints are made.
