Over 1,200 artists and practitioners have been part of Esplanade's developmental programmes. 80 artistic exchanges have taken place through Esplanade, connecting Singapore artists and practitioners to the region and beyond.* In truth, few know about how much it takes to bring art from spark to stage. Scripts need writing, staging needs a stage, networks need networking, and so on. Artists spend months, decades even, to achieve a vision—in collaboration with other creative minds. Over 24 years, Esplanade has been one of the spaces and platforms where such ideas breathe and take form. We're proud, as producers, and as Singapore's performing arts centre, to have stood by some of these artists through their artistic careers. This August, we hold Esplanade’s third-ever fundraising gala, which celebrates this very work of bringing art to life—while raising funds to nurture artists, champion new Singapore works and make the arts accessible.
