“How many years has it taken people to realize that we are all brothers and sisters and human beings in the human race?” Marsha P. Johnson target has yet to make a line of Pride #targetbirds so I’ve taken matters into my own hands! This is the first in a series of birds I am re-inventing as pivotal LGBTQ+ figures in history. Pride isn’t only a month of corporate rainbow-washing, it started as an uprising by LGBTQ+ people in response to a police raid at The Stonewall Inn in June 1969. Gay liberation activist Marsha P. Johnson was one of those incredible people whose actions were pivotal in the movement. This little bird is my tiny homage to her. Watch “The Death and Life of Marsha P.
