11 years ago today, Carly Rae Jepsen released 'Run Away With me.' Landed officially as the second single from Carly Rae Jepsen's third studio album, "E•MO•TION," via 604, Schoolboy, and Interscope Records — after first surfacing to radio and in Japan that June. Jepsen wrote it in Stockholm alongside Noonie Bao, Robin Fredriksson, and Mattias Larsson, with production and programming handled by Fredriksson and Larsson (working as Mattman & Robin) together with Shellback. Jepsen has said the song began as just an instrumental saxophone riff the Swedish duo played her among a batch of demos they weren't fully confident in — she found the material immediately striking and built the song's soaring topline over it.
