10-year-old Kinley loves music, school and dancing and—thanks to progress made in speech therapy—she can now communicate those things to others. Kinley was diagnosed with autism at age 2 and has been seeing Children’s occupational, physical and speech therapy teams to address sensory and speech challenges. Kinley uses an augmentative alternative communication device for nearly 100% of her communication.   Kinley has worked with her speech language pathologist, Sarah, on basic device navigation, answering questions, articulating opinions and needs and more. Therapy has empowered her to use her speech device more independently and communicate more spontaneously.
