LSU (2-1) Texas ascended to the top ranking for the first time in the poll's history, partly as a result of previous No. 1 Georgia's narrow 13-12 victory over unranked Kentucky on Saturday night. The Longhorns, despite losing starting quarterback Quinn Ewers to injury during the game, breezed to a 56-7 victory over UTSA when backup Arch Manning starred in UT's third straight victory. In fact, no team in the Super 16 lost this past week. And 15 of the same 16 teams remained in the poll from a week ago.
