OCDSB reverses course and will now OFFICIALLY march in Ottawa’s Capital Pride parade‼️😳🏳️‍🌈 After several days of controversy and public backlash, the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) has officially reversed its decision and registered to march in this year’s Capital Pride Parade on August 30. The board had initially said it would not officially participate because the parade takes place during the summer when schools are closed. It later cited student safety concerns following last year’s parade disruption, saying senior staff had recommended against official participation and student involvement. Following criticism from trustees, Capital Pride organizers, parents and members of the community, OCDSB CEO Stacey Kay spoke directly with Capital Pride Executive Director Callie Metler on Monday.
