Join us for a hands-on outdoor workshop on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM at the Deering Estate. Participants will create a hanging sculpture using locally harvested bamboo and biodegradable twine, an ecologically mindful piece. Inspired by research enabled through Yale’s Summer Environmental Fellowship and Leitner International Research and Internship Fellowship, this workshop is guided by themes of tides, flow, and our interconnected place in nature as it explores where art and conservation meet. This event will take place outside. Please dress for the weather and bring a hat, sunblock and water. Sheers are recommended.
