About two hours ago, the #Mariners swung a trade with the #WhiteSox, acquiring CP Gregory Santos for RP Prelander Berroa and OF Zach DeLoach. They also receive the 69th overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, a comp B pick. Santos broke out in 2023, having a career year featuring a 132 ERA+. Additionally, he had a 3.39 ERA, 2.65 FIP and a 1.296 WHIP. He will likely pair with Brash, as the set up men for Andres Munoz. At the cost of Santos, the Mariners parted with Prelander Berroa a young pitcher with tons of upside. In 2023, Berroa showed off his stuff down in the minor leagues posting a 13.4 K/9 with a 2.86 ERA. But, he struggled with control and walks, recording a 5.6 BB/9 in 100.2 IP. Ultimately, he was a question mark heading into 2024 and the Mariners chose to make a move for a big league arm to put a little more confidence into their bullpen. What do you think about the trade?
