Your hip joint is a ball and socket. Sitting for hours can shrink-wrap the capsule until rotation disappears.
Stiff hips aren’t a flexibility problem. They’re a rotation problem. That ball-and-socket joint can move in every direction, but when it stops spinning freely, the lower back and knees start picking up the slack.
The fix: Elevated Pigeon Pose
- Shin on a bench, hips square, lean forward, 30s each side x 3
- Regression: lower surface (chair or step)
- Progression: add 8 slow forward rocks
