On 31 May 1993, Oasis took a gamble that changed music forever. The band weren't even booked to play at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow. They piled into a van, travelled up from Manchester with just a few songs, and managed to get themselves onto the bill anyway. In the audience that night was Creation Records founder Alan McGee. As Noel Gallagher recalled, after the set McGee introduced himself and said he was from Creation Records. It felt surreal, but within hours Oasis had been offered a record deal. There were no celebrations on the drive home, just the long journey back to Manchester. When Noel got home at 6am and told his partner that Creation had offered them a deal, she burst into tears.
