Before Oasis conquered Britain, Noel Gallagher had a mission...
Destroy boring music.
While the rest of the UK was losing itself in dance music, rave culture and ecstasy-fuelled nights out, Noel believed rock and roll had lost its soul.
His target?
What he called "junk food music."
Phil Collins. Sting. Safe, polished radio pop.
Noel famously declared:
"If I don't have Phil Collins dead in my fridge by the end of the decade, I'll be a failure."
A joke, obviously. The Gallagher brothers were never known for understatements.
At the time Oasis weren't the best musicians in Manchester.
Not even close.
But Noel insists they had something nobody else had:
SPIRIT.
"We were greater than the sum of our parts."
He credits Bonehead as the glue that held the band together and even calls him the true spirit of Oasis.
