Want to see a day in the life of a student researcher … in Sweden?    Biology major Sophie Svantesson ‘29 is conducting ant research in her family’s hometown on the Swedish island of Öland as part of the lab of Jane Waters, Ph.D., with the support of a PC Center for Engaged Learning undergraduate research grant.   Waters discovered a Myrmica rugulosa ant in Maine last summer — the first documented record of the species in the United States — and Svantesson is surveying for the same rare ant in its natural range. #ProvidenceCollege #GoFriars #FYP #Research
