Here’s a peek into a 9-night journey we recently designed for a family looking to experience a different side of Portugal, one filled with volcanic landscapes, unforgettable food, and outdoor adventure. Their trip began in the Azores on São Miguel, where days were spent out on the Atlantic deep-sea fishing, exploring the dramatic volcanic landscapes of Furnas, and discovering the island’s incredible food scene. A jeep adventure through Sete Cidades and Lagoa do Fogo ended with a private chef preparing dinner inside a pineapple greenhouse, one of the most unique dining experiences on the itinerary. Next came Pico Island, where black lava fields, UNESCO-listed vineyards, and Portugal’s highest mountain created an entirely different landscape.
