Yesterday was one of those days I’ll never forget. Beau, his mom Leah, his dad Austen, and his big brother Bear came over. From the moment Beau got out of the car and looked at me, you could see it in his eyes. He knew we were the same. He wasn’t the only one anymore. Beau is still too young to talk or fully understand what he was seeing, but I got to show his family something that’s hard to capture in photos or videos—what everyday life really looks like. My home, my car, the little adaptations I’ve figured out over the years, and the independence that’s possible. I struggled, adapted, and figured so many things out along the way so kids like Beau won’t have to start from scratch. The best part was getting to tell his parents something I truly believe: Beau is going to do everything I do… and then he’s going to do things I never imagined. That’s how it should be. Every generation should have more opportunities than the one before it. I can’t wait to watch him grow and cheer him...
