Luck changed her story. She decided it shouldn’t determine someone else’s. When Jaycina Almond became pregnant at 20, a change in her circumstances gave her access to diapers, care and the birth experience she wanted. But she saw other young mothers in similar situations having completely different experiences. The difference wasn’t effort. It was access. That realization led her to create the Tender Foundation. Since 2020, the Atlanta nonprofit has raised more than $1.1 million, served more than 2,000 families and distributed more than 3,600 diaper-and-wipes drops. Through direct cash and everyday essentials, Almond is helping mothers get what their families need without strings attached or someone else deciding what that should look like. What support would have made the biggest difference for you or a mother you know? 🖋️: Tiffany J.
