Ramadhan in the UK this year feels more familiar because fasting lasts only 13 hours, just like back home in Indonesia. We start at 5am (sunrise) and end at 6pm (sunset). However, as we approach Eid (the end of Ramadhan), it will extend to about 15 hours (4:30am to 8pm). I am thus so grateful, and really can't complain about anything, when I have previously fasted for 19 hours during the UK summers before (from 3am to 10pm).
