Your onboarding is probably too vague.
The first 2–4 weeks determine whether a new sales rep builds momentum or starts falling behind. Yet most companies hand over training materials, introduce a few teammates, and expect the rep to figure out the rest.
The best onboarding we've seen is much more specific.
Instead of telling a new hire what success looks like in 30 days, you tell them exactly what success looks like today. If they start on Monday, they should know the six actions they must complete before the day ends to stay on track for Tuesday. On Tuesday, they should have another clear checklist. Then Wednesday. Then Thursday.
That level of clarity removes guesswork, builds confidence, and creates consistency across every new hire.
