Politics feels louder than ever. It turns out a lot of it is coming from a surprisingly small slice of the country.
Our new study on how Americans are engaged with news, politics, religion and civic life finds that just 9% of adults are highly engaged across the board. What sets them apart is their political action: They are by far the most likely to do things like volunteer for campaigns and contact elected officials.
