Hawai‘i offers an extraordinary opportunity to learn about conservation, culture, and community stewardship.
On Service Hawai‘i, students travel across the Big Island and Maui, partnering with local nonprofits and cultural leaders to help restore fragile ecosystems and learn about the Hawaiian principle of malama ʻāina, or caring for the land. Service work includes planting native crops, removing invasive species, and supporting ongoing environmental restoration efforts.
Along the way, students explore the islands’ remarkable landscapes, from hiking volcanic terrain and swimming in clear coastal waters to snorkeling with manta rays and taking part in cultural workshops led by community elders.
