Hi Putney friends! I'm so excited to be taking over for a few days to share some highlights from our Career program in #Iceland. My name is Erica Frisk (@ericafriskphoto) and I've led trips with Putney for the last two years. We began our trip in the beautiful city of #Reykjavik where we visited the #Bluelagoon and explored local museums before embarking on a tour of the #Goldencircle as well as #Thingvellir National Park. We were joined by Dr. M.Jackson, a world renown glaciologist who focuses her research on the complex impacts of glacier change for communities. Our next stop was Höfn, a remote gateway to the mighty #Vatnajökull #glacier, the world’s largest ice cap outside the Arctic and Antarctica. Together we strapped on our crampons and trekked across #Breiðamerkurjökull, one of Vatnajökull’s largest outlet glaciers, even trying out ice climbing all while learning about the key components of climate change and its impacts.
